About This Facility

Description

Mid-County Landfill is a closed public landfill located in Christiansburg, Montgomery, Virginia. It has been in operation since 1979. The facility is projected to close in 2000. The facility is operated by Montgomery Regional Solid Waste Authority, VA. As of 2014, the facility holds approximately 1,300,000 tons of waste in place. The site covers approximately 56 acres with a maximum depth of 85 feet. The facility operates a landfill gas collection system, and has an shutdown landfill gas-to-energy project.
