Description

County Line LF is a closed public landfill located in Littleton, Douglas, Indiana. It has been in operation since 1965. The facility is projected to close in 1987. The facility is operated by WM and owned by Douglas County, CO. As of 1986, the facility holds approximately 3,165,530 tons of waste in place — approximately 100% of its total permitted capacity. Its total design capacity is 3,165,530 tons. The annual waste acceptance rate is approximately 203,785 tons per year. The site covers approximately 80 acres. The facility operates a landfill gas collection system, and has an shutdown landfill gas-to-energy project. The project uses Reciprocating Engine technology. Capturing landfill gas reduces greenhouse gas emissions and, in many cases, generates clean renewable energy.
